The Distortion Monster is a program that reads in a sample and then distorts it. The level of distortion is dependant on three thresholds that the user sets, upper threshhold, lower threshhold and unchanged threshold (sections under this threshold are not distorted). The user also sets the distortion levels at the threshold. The clever thing about this program is that it doesn't distort the sample by overdriving your speakers, or clipping the sample, but it shifts parts of the sample to create a real 'grungy' sound that won't kill your speakers!!!
